Joyce van Ombergen-Jong
Young adults coach and writer
‘I practice what I preach’, which means that I face my fears and focus every day on living a healthy, happy and meaningful life. By taking responsibility and leadership in my own life and living for it, I inspire young people and their supervisors (teachers/parents) to make the best of their lives.
I offer this inspiration by writing, speaking on (online) stages and I host a podcast (125+ episodes).
People know me as a very intuitive and honest guide. I am not afraid to take big leaps of faith and have the ability to see the bigger picture.
I have developed various online coaching programs for (parents of) young people and in addition to ‘the Online Coach’, my first book published in 2011, I have now published 3 young adult books. The first two have now been translated into English and will also be published in Spanish.
"A day without learning is a day wasted"
Coaching en Mentoring
I have years of experience in coaching and mentoring. On the one hand, my way of coaching is based on international coaching and training with techniques such as NLP, breath work and creative working methods. In addition, it is ‘uniquely Joyce’, because I dare to use my high sensitivity. I function as a mirror, as it were. I tune in to you and can therefore bring to light things that you are not (yet) aware of.
Intuïtive
Quickly to the core because I use my high sensitivity
Emphatic
Be open to the other person's emotions, attitude and motivation
Positive energy
Assuming possibilities instead of limits
Learn How To Love The Rain of Life
I know what it feels like to literally be brought to a stop. After a serious accident I had to choose life again and learn to look at it from a different perspective.
I needed to find out what was possible instead of what was not.
This crisis resulted for me in a new career as an entrepreneur and made me decide to move to a new country.
Life is not all sunshine and rainbows!
Daring to allow to let go of people or situations is also part of life. No harvest without rain, those rainstorms are also necessary to fertilise your soul.

Practice what I preach
All those crises would not be necessary if you had learned at an early age to be aware of your own patterns. If you had learned that it is good to stay true to yourself and enjoy life and that it does not have to be a struggle. This fact has inspired me to set up projects for young people. So that they learn to take responsibility for a healthy, happy and meaningful life at a young age!
In addition, I share everything I experience, what I see around me and things that inspire me through blogs, columns, videos and podcasts. I observe and reflect to understand the world around me and to heal myself. Because I believe that by healing yourself, you heal the world around you.
Writer
In 2010 I published my first book ‘the Online Coach’, which was published in English in 2012. In 2020 and 2023 I published novels for young adults. These are easy reads full of life lessons. I also write columns for my own platform and website, social media and as a columnist for various (online) magazines.
Projects
I like to believe that you can make your own choices and take a leap of faith.
*The Holland Kindness Pandemic: I toured the country in a VW van in the fall of 2020 and offered a listening ear and coaching to (teachers of) young people.
*MYStress Weeks: I regularly guide (large) groups of young people online via Instagram.
*Young adults retreat – every summer I organize a retreat especially for young adults.
*Teacher Mastery – together with my partner Joost, I coach in our hybrid program that we have specially developed for starting (1-3 years) MBO teachers.
Speaker
I regularly offer inspiration by talking about the importance of being allowed to speak up.
What inspires me
I reflect daily. It helps me to better understand myself and the world around me. There are many things and people that inspire me and nourish my soul. You can find examples of my ‘soul food’ below.
Clara Min – Take Charge of your Driver’s Seat
I love being inspired by fellow professionals. Clara Min is a respected collegae coach to whom I feel connected on a profound personal and business
Becoming
“As parents we don’t raise babies, we raise adults”. I am watching an interview with Michelle Obama on her book ‘Becoming’. I hang on her
Praying Vs. Meditating
When I was young I used to go to church and pray. To be honest I did not really think about why I did it,
